Final Pieces

All finished, after a week or two of hard work, screen printing and late nights spent sewing. All worth it though very happy! Thanks to Jess to modelling for me xx

Designs

Today I made a start on some designs and fashion illustrations for my fashion, here is what have got so far...

Development

These are images that I created in Photoshop, using patches of colour in random areas of the image, inspired by Cassandra Harrison, did a post on her a while back in 2012. This ended up being the pattern for the stationary I made to go with my laser cut letter rack, shown in an earlier post. 

I also have been experimenting with screen printing this image at different angles on fabric, using a range of 3 different colours. I printed onto both thick cotton, and embroidering into this fabric to make it less flat. And also onto different colour chiffon, using colours such as black, grey, teal, army green and gold. 

Currently, my plan is to use the two above techniques in my fashion final piece. The first as a lining for a jacket and the second to form the skirt of a skater style evening dress.

Bath

Back in summer I went to Bath with a few friends to take some photos and get some inspiration for our projects, these are some of the photos that inspired me most and how I have developed and used them throughout my project.

Amazingness

To this day the prettiest ice cream cones I have ever seen, old photo I found that I took in an ice cream shop in Rome earlier this year. Not related to textiles, but you never know could inspire something!

David Koma

This are some of my favorite pieces from David Koma's Spring/Summer 2012 collection that I found back in summer that I loved and have really inspired my final piece for my coursework, if you look closely these images are also in my mood board below! Emma x

Mood Board for Fashion Piece(s)

My final piece for my A2 coursework is going to be fashion, and this is a mood board that shows all of my inspirations, imagery and ideas. I am going for a feminine evening look, and looking into making a skater dress and lined jacket of some sort! Its early days at the moment! 

Christmas (a little late!)

A little late with this post, but this is a little paper ornament Christmas decoration that I made based on my current project, didn't take very long but I think pretty effective :)

Letter Rack

Laser cut letter rack I made for a Christmas make for my project at college, inspired by Georgian Architecture, really happy with how it turned out! Also made some stationary to go alongside it...
